High School Rodeo stuff?

I'm going to start some showing in high school rodeo (20x) this summer. But right now I'm learning to rope and tie goats. (I already barrel race and pole bend.)

Where is a good place to buy any roping supplies I will need for my horse, a rope, piggin string, etc.

(Right now I ride in a barrel saddle with good quality saddle pad, breast collar, barrel racing bit, bridle and roping/gaming reins - plus splint and bell boots - I will ride in a flank cinch when I find one that fits my chubby horse.) =]

I have an instructor with experience in the events, so if you have any other advice please add it!

Smith Brothers. They do have a website and catalog. They have the best roping supplies I've seen. You can also try ebay.
Reply:I know nothing about roping, but I just want to commend you on using boots on your horse- his legs thank you, and so do I!
Reply:here are some really good tack stores for roping supplies, they are the best ive seen and I love the quality that ive used from there

these are just a few you could ask a trainer around your area what store they use or someone that is already in the sport that you are going into
Reply:Find a good used roping saddle ladies style tho. The horn on your barrel saddle could snap should you chose to do soemthing heavier than goat tying. You wnat a ladies style b/c they are narrower across the seat than men's and don't hurt your hips as much. You could find a good combo saddle that has that narrow seat and sturdy horn but a higher cantle for barrels than a normal roper. My persoanl fav ropes are the money maker by classic. NRSworld.com has soem awesome roping gear and so does Smith Brothers. If you want to ahve a custom ladies ropign saddle doen fairly cheaply call reinsman and ask to speak to Jane Hutto or Dale Martin. Jane is Dale's secretary and he is the orginator of Martin Saddlery that you see in NRS catalogs! I think a custom combo by him was around 900.00 maybe more or less depending on the style and tooling. Stateline tack also as some roping supplies.
