Would you ride in the boot (trunk) of a car ?

Would you voluntarily get into the boot (trunk) of a car, be locked in the boot, and driven to your destination ? This might happen if there were too many people to fit into the car.

I havent myself, but I probably would. I've put a few people in the trunk on different occasions. One time, me and my buddy were driving around with another friend in the trunk. We pulled up to some old lady with her windows down. The friend in the trunk was trying to talk to us, but we shouted at him to shut the hell up back there; there was no one in the back seat of the car, so either we looked like some crazy people shouting at nothing, or we were crazy people shouting at someone in the trunk! We stopped at my school at the time, and opened up the trunk, and a human gets out, and all the parents were picking their kids up at that time! We got so many dirty looks, it was awesome!!

More importantly, it will invalidate your insurance. This would not only leave you open to prosecution but also you would be unable to claim if you had an accident.


That could leave you with a seriously injured boot passenger who could not claim any compensation, and a driver with a criminal record.

Reply:if it wasnt illegal and the passenger shelf came off so i see into the car(if it was a hatch back) with maybe some kind of seat belt.................................

Reply:LOL... I'd be surprised if anyone over 40 had NOT done this at least once in their lives. Yeah, of course it was dangerous; that was part of the appeal. It's also claustrophobic, dirty, smelly, Very Uncomfortable and a Lousy Ride.





And your "friends ;-)" inside the car are laughing at you and talking about you "as if you aren't there."





As a one-time Goof, it was Awful, but in a Great way. As "this might happen if there were too many people to fit into the car"... uh... thanks, but no. I'll call a cab.
