Clothes for horse riding...?

I brought a hat for £37.99 not bad but what would be considered bad prices for jodphurs, boots and a decent polo shirt and gloves? The jods i have where £26.99 boots £32.99 and gloves £2.99

Also anyone know some decent prices for grooming equipment E.G comb, soft bristled brush, curry combs etc

I live in the UK...Thanks

Clothes for horse riding...?
all the prices vary because there are different makes for different types of clothing and equipment, for example you could get a childs jokey hat for around £30 or you could get a hat designed for showjumping and got special inforsements and they can cost over £100. it is the same with clothing boots and everything else. Try looking at horse equipment websites to get some idears how much things cost. try out theese websites below

hope this helps you.
Reply:Dover Saddlery has top of the line quality stuff, you can find some great deals in their catalog. Some items are a little more pricey, but it is worth it because of the top quality.
Reply:www.rideaway.co.uk
Reply:These all sound reasonable prices. You can mail order from Robinsons Country Leisure - they have their own website and very reasonable prices
Reply:try e-bay
Reply:well just look at the store to see the prices. curry combs shouldnt be ova $3 and other grooming supplies such as hoof picks and soft brushes shouldnt be ova $7.
Reply:Try ebay! I got my show clothing there for an amazingly low price compared to the tack shops near here.
Reply:hey, the worst place for horse riding clothes is on the internet you get charged a bomb and ten you have to pay p%26amp;p. try Barratts of Feckenham they have stores situated all round the UK . i paid £20 for my helmet, £19.99 for jodphurs and £1.99 for gloves, they sell everything from horseware to rider wear. hope this helps! xx
Reply:I would certainly not spend alot on jods and they get ruined and warn easily i get mine from decathlon for £12 each and they are very good quality a nice think cotton, However they might not be one near you in which case i would definutly suggest robinsons especially there bargin bin.... some very good stuff in there, www.horseandrider. com (i think thats what it is if not google it) have some nice stuff. Hope this helps xx, oh by the way joules have some lovely polo shirts : )
Reply:Hi,

Allot of it generally depends on how much riding, and the type of riding you do, as the quality of the equipment will vary.

there are a few websites you can look at that I would recommend ..

www.rideaway.co.uk/equestrian

www.shires-equestrian.co.uk/

www.robinsons-uk.com

Maybe browse through these to find grooming brushes etc... I have used robinsons and shires allot over the years and try local saddlery's and stores such as countrywide.

Also look on eBay and see if you can get items from the above sites any cheaper on eBay! If you're going to be riding allot I would advise getting some good quality gloves, I think mine were about £15 which seems allot but I have had them ages now whereas the cheaper ones would last me a few weeks at most when I was riding plenty,

I hope this was some help!
Reply:try robinsons catalog,or online shopping with robinsons they have some great deals.

good luck
Reply:Rideaway is a good store....however their prices can sometimes be a little high. Even people who work there admit it!

Try your local saddlers or looking on horsey magazine websites as they can have good suggestions.

I think the prices you have paid for the jods and boots and gloves are reasonable if they are good quality products and are going to last a long time.

When you buy a hat, pleeeeeease make sure it is kitemarked!!!!!! This is the standard mark that lets you know it is safe and will protect your head if you fall off! Usually kitemarked hats are quite expensive - mine was £70!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this helps!
Reply:Those prices are pretty good for riding equipment... I can hardly find prices that inexpensive! I would buy a brush set, which could cost around 9-18 pounds, maybe even more...buying brushes individually can cost more, anyway
Reply:It all depends on your needs and priorities. I spend £100 on jods, £150 on jod boots and about £200 on riding coats. However the clothes I wear for work I buy in charity shops. You can get jods, boots and jackets for 15 quid each. Really depands what you want.
Reply:I don't know but my lil sis has got 4 good quality horse rugs she is selling. I think they are all made by SHIRES???

Don't know size's but I can find out!!

They are all brand new still in packaging, Only opened to have a look (I think 1 of them is a show one with all fancy rope around).

I think she only wants £160 for them all!!

INTERESTED OR NEED MORE INFO EMAIL ME!!
Reply:how much is that in the US?!?!?!??!?!?
Reply:go to a horse sale and buy those products when they are selling tack. you can usually get things a lot cheaper then.
Reply:try robinsons. or rideaway they both have quite good prices on line.

Id be concerned that you only paid 37.99 for a hat though - if you intend on riding for a long time you're better off in investing in a good hat such as a GPS - these are far superior hats in safety and comfort and would be an investment in the long run.

xx
Reply:Believe it or not Tesco sell equestrian equipment at very cheap prices either from tesco direct stores or over the web, go to tesco.com for details, or like the lady said before robinsons are pretty good.
Reply:Robinsons and shires are reasonable-but its not really top quality stuff-ok for yard and home-i would never ride in a show in any of their stuff-sorry im a poser though :-) !!xx
Reply:Robinsons is cheap and has good sales quite often .I go to the store near haydock racecourse but I think they may have stores in different parts of the country .They have a website
Reply:www.rideaway.co.uk, www.robinsons-uk.com, www.derbyhouse.co.uk ,ww.frogpoolmanor.com or co.uk cnt memeber they are all gd! or ebay!xx
Reply:Definately try Robinsons. Very good prices to begin with and when they have a sale on, even better. And you can shop from home or in person. Great quality in their Requisite range too.
