Does anyone have info on skitching ??? and techniques...?
steel gives yellow sparks, titanium gives blue/white sparks. you can just get some bolts in the heels, they tend to pull out pretty easy though
Reply:I can only guess that it takes some type of hard soled shoes to skitch. Try a dance school or if you know someone who is military you can get taps.
Reply:i made my own using a cutting torch and a piece of scrap steel. first i went to the army surplus store and bought a pair of combat boots(make sure they have thick hard soles) then i traced the outline of the boot onto the steel making it just a little bit smaller than the boot sole. then i cut it out with the cutting torch drilled some pilot holes and used some nuts and bolts to fasten the plates to my boots. you have to take the insert out of the boot so you can tighten the nuts up tight so they wont fall out. Use washers. then go and get you some extra thick inserts for the boots so you dont feel the nuts sticking up through the bottom. this worked great lots of sparks and durable, plus cheaper than buying a pair.
Reply:You should be able to find heel taps at just about any store, K-Mart etc. They will spark for you but remember, where there is sparks, there is heat!! I have seen boots melt down doing this. Ride safe and have fun!
Reply:wow...when I was a kid....we called " skitching " what you did when you grabbed onto the bumper of a car to be pulled down the block in the snow.....

never knew it had something to do with motorcycles????
Reply:skid plates for boot you cand find them in the denis kirk catalog and other street bike shops or you could go to a machine shop and have some made for U
