Some time ago on e bay I saw a product advertised from an online shop that made saddles shine like patent leather. I didn't note the details at the time. I would like to try it for my saddle and dressage boots too. Does anyone know the product and where to buy it or anything similar?
What is the name of the product that makes horse riding saddles shine like patent leather?
the product you need is called patent shine for leather. It is available from battle hayward and bower
Reply:My girlfriends saddle shines when she sweats, only trouble is it stinks
It's the same when she trotts on it
Reply:In the UK we call it Saddle Soap, you put it on with a rough cloth then rub it off with a soft cloth
Reply:Shannon is correct, but the finish scuffs fairly quickly. Dressage boots are best done with Kiwi Parade Gloss, hairdried on, 2-3 layers deep. Dry between layers then buff with a lint free very soft cloth. This is how the Royal Horse Artillery do it, except they use a blowtorch!
Reply:We used to do our footy-boots with "Dubbin".
Reply:Saddle soap.
Reply:My ex jockey - ex boyfriend says linseed oil !
Reply:leather soap and a dry cloth to buff
