Can Ariat Sport Low Rider Breeches be worn with paddock boots and half chaps?

I am interested in buying these breeches. However, I know that breeches are typically worn with tall boots and not paddock boots/half chaps. I have seen some breeches, though, that are a bit longer (and I%26#039;m only 5%26#039;1) and can be worn with paddock boots/half chaps, anyway. Is anybody familiar with these breeches? Any idea if they%26#039;ll work for me without tall boots?

those are really nice breeches, so good choice! :-)

i think they%26#039;ll be ok. especially if you%26#039;re wearing chaps over them, anyway.
Reply:do whatever floats your boat basically especially when it comes to training or informal lessons
Reply:Yeah I have no idea where you%26#039;re getting your information from. Breeches should end at your ankle, if they end mid calf they%26#039;re probably hurt and be way too short. Some brands come in short/tall, so you might want to look into some of those. I%26#039;d recommend going to a tack store and asking someone to help fit you.

As for what boots you wear, it doesn%26#039;t matter. Tall boots are worn with breeches for shows. For every day schooling, it%26#039;s not practical to ruin your tall boots so I would recommend wearing boots and half chaps. The same pants can be used.

Jodhpurs are like breeches but have rolled ends with buttons sewn on. Those are for kids, to be worn with paddock boots only and garders. Once you reach your teenage years, you wear breeches with tall boots or half chaps. (see above.) Hope this helps!!!
Reply:Yea, that%26#039;s fine, all breeches that can be worn with tall boots can be worn with short boots+chaps. Now, breeches tend to be longer because more people school with short boots. I really wouldn%26#039;t worry about it.
Reply:Yeah, I wear mine (I have the ones you%26#039;re asking about) without tall boots all of the time. You may want to get Long, so you can tuck the bottoms into your paddock boots so the boots don%26#039;t rub a sore onto your legs. Or you could just wear long, thick socks and pull them over the bottoms of the breeches. Then you can throw your halfchaps on top, and there you go.

If you are really worried about it, I would go to a local tack shop that has the breeches and try them on with your boots and half chaps. That%26#039;s what I did.
Reply:if your just schooling then they will work out for you, But if you showing then I would invest in some tall boots. But Ive worn all my breeches with my half chaps and boots.
Reply:It is becoming more and more common to wear half chaps rather than high boots when schooling. Personally, I will also just wear by muck boots with breeches when I ride sometimes.

Basically, you can do whatever you want.

EDIT: I do not know any breeches that end mid calf.....
Reply:were them while schooling not showing

like ew=verything fits under half chaps
Reply:The breeches in question do go down the whole length of the calf, but they are low in the rise which means that instead of coming up to your waist as in typical fit, the waistband will fit lower on your hips. Some women like them because it%26#039;s a more modern (i.e. trendy) look but I didn%26#039;t find them too practical. Especially when jumping and I felt like my underwear was sticking out the back.
Reply:You should be able to wear any breeches with half chaps, since the half chaps cover the same part of the leg as tall boots. They might ride up if your half chaps don%26#039;t fit your leg very well (if they%26#039;re too loose).
Reply:You can definitely wear any pair of breeches with half chaps, just get some tall socks to protect the part of your calf that the breech doesn%26#039;t cover. I don%26#039;t know how the Ariat breeches fit lengthwise, but I ride in the Tailored Sportsman TS Low-rise breech and they only come mid-calf. These are the tall boot socks that I wear, they are great because they are study but very thin so they don%26#039;t mess up the fit of your boots!
